How our student and graduate programme can help those starting out

Starting out in any new career or job can feel daunting. In our industry, though, it’s often the case that newly qualified animal therapists aren’t just starting a new job; they’re embarking on running a new business!

Courses prepare students to treat animals effectively and to understand the science and theory behind what works and why, but they don’t always include the ins and outs of running a business or managing your time and workload effectively.

That’s where Corevelio comes in. We offer a Student and Graduate Programme which gives students and those who have recently qualified access to our all-in-one business and rehab platform. Laura Clinton, our founder, created the programme to support those in the learning and early stages of their careers as animal therapists.

From her own experience working as an equine musculoskeletal therapist, Laura knows first hand that once you start practising, you find yourself wearing lots of different hats. You’re the receptionist and customer service rolled into one, booking appointments and dealing with enquiries. You’re also raising invoices, acting as a bookkeeper and trying to work out what tax you owe! Then there’s writing up reports, liaising with vets and finding new clients when you get a chance!

Course curriculum doesn’t always include teaching animal practitioners the business side of things and that’s exactly where many of our users tell us they felt overwhelmed before finding Corevelio.

Laura said, “I remember what it was like. I was confident treating animals and dealing with my clients, but I was spending so much time on report writing and managing other aspects of running my own business. I was really busy. I knew I was prescribing the right exercises but I didn’t feel as though the presentation of the plans I created matched my expertise or looked as polished and professional as I wanted. That can undermine your confidence.

I was also working lots of non-billable hours to get admin done, which limited how much time I could spend actually treating animals. Something had to change and that’s where the initial idea for the platform came from.

Once we were up and running, I knew I wanted to support those new to the industry as well as more established therapists who could afford to invest in software tools.”

The Student and Graduate Programme aims to support students while they’re training and in those early stages after qualifying. Getting used to using professional software from day one without having to invest in professional software gives Corevelio users a head start and helps them prepare to hit the ground running when their studies end.

Students and tutors tell us it helps build confidence and professionalism. Students start forming good habits early. Then when they start working with paying clients, they have all the templates, tools and know-how to run their practice with clarity and confidence. Starting with the right tools can make a huge difference!

Katie Phillips joined Corevelio as a student and is now working as a qualified Equine Sports Massage & Rehabilitation Therapist. She credits her experience using the Corevelio with supporting her to grow her equine massage and rehab therapy business so quickly.

"I've used Corevelio through the Student and Graduate Programme and I genuinely believe it’s played a huge part in how quickly I’ve been able to grow.

Between managing bookings, sending vet consent forms, onboarding new clients, appointment reminders, session reports, and exercise plans, Corevelio does it all, it’s completely streamlined my business.

Everything is organised in one place, it keeps me on track, and it’s saved me so much time."
